The annual King’s Day celebration in Amsterdam — with its open-air flea market and cheap orange accessories — is both the backdrop and the primary resource for designing and styling the garments of Avoidmonarchy. The collection features prints inspired by classic nude paintings, combined with embroidered slogans: SPEED, WASTED, STUFF and heat-pressed fragments from branded Dutch supermarket plastic bags and food packaging. Each piece is unique and upcycled. Avoidmonarchy was co-designed with London-based fashion designer Timna Weber.
